Volunteer With Us

Have you heard? Lake Norman Humane has a robust volunteer program with opportunities for cat and dog lovers alike! If you love animals and want to make a difference, join us at LKNH as a volunteer. Volunteering at an animal center can be a very rewarding experience as you enrich the lives of animals awaiting their new home.

We ask that all new volunteers complete an Online Volunteer Application.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be contacted via email to attend a Volunteer Orientation.

After you attend orientation, you will be scheduled for the appropriate training sessions depending on what positions are available and what areas you are interested in.

*Volunteers between the ages of 14-17 may volunteer to work with our cats as long as a parent/guardian volunteers with them. You must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer with the dogs.

Volunteers assist us in the following ways:

Fostering of our animals in your home
Cat Caretakers for our cats at the Adoption Center
Dog Caretakers for our dogs at the Adoption Center
PetSmart Cat Caretakers for our cats at Petsmart, Mooresville
