Foster Homes Save Lives!
On any given day, LKNH receives dozens of intake requests for animals in need. The number of requests far exceed our in house capacity for care. Loving foster homes allow us to provide care for many more vulnerable animals from our community and save more lives. There are many reasons an animal may require foster, whether it be for medical treatment, a quiet place to decompress outside of the shelter, or to give our youngest kittens and puppies a chance to grow and gain strength before they are ready for adoption.
Whatever the case may be, LKNH will provide you with all necessary supplies and guidance, and in return we ask that you supply love, TLC, and a quiet space in your home where you can keep fosters separate from resident animals.

We ask all of prospective fosters to complete an Online Foster Application and you will be contacted by a team member with more information.

Shy or undersocialzed animals that are too stressed in a shelter environment
